We at Resurrection Power University of Theology believe that Christian marriage is instituted by God to be a union between one man who was created a male at birth and one woman who was created a female at birth, so that both of them become one person according to the purpose of God (Genesis 2:18-25; 5:1-2). We believe that Jesus confirmed that from the beginning, marriage has been between one man and one woman; Mark 10:2-9; Matthew 19:4-6), and that their marriage is in force until death do them part (Romans 7:2-3). We believe that marriage between one man and one woman models the intimate relationship between Jesus Christ and His Bride, the Church, of which we are members (Ephesians 5:21-33). We believe that stable marriage produces stable family, and stable family, in turn, produces stable society (1 Cor. 7:2).
